Calogero (Charly) Chiarelli Productions

My writing was mostly self taught - which led to teaching writing at St. Lawrence College.


Writing influences: - Giovanni Bocaccio - "The Decameron", Florence, 1348 AD
- Kurt Vonnegut Jr. - American novelist
- Charles Dickens - English writer
- William Shakespeare - playwright/poet


Self taught virtuoso harmonica player, with this sample of influences: King Biscuit Boy, Carlos del Junco, Larry Adler, Sonny Boy Williamson, Toots Thielemans, Stevie Wonder.


Film influences: Cinema Paradiso, Amarcord (Fellini), It's a wonderful Life, The Godfather.

  • 2001 - "Mangiacake!" - Play. Writer, actor, musician in one man play. Artword Theatre,02 Toronto, April 2001.

  • 1998 - "The Birds Beyond" -Symphony. Writer and Narrator of Libretto, Score by John Burge, performed by the Kingston Symphony and the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestras.

  • Production of one man play, written and performed at the opening of the1994- "Cu Fu", prod Hamilton Workers Arts and Heritage Centre Ontario.
